Monday: Stoic Quote
Monday will start with a Stoic principle, quote, or incite.
Example: Stoic joy is inner contentment. Epictetus said, “Happiness depends on ourselves.” Feel it today.
Tuesday: Bible Verse
On Tuesday, a Bible verse will be shared that is relevant with the theme.
Example: Nehemiah 8:10 – “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Rejoice in Him.
Wednesday: Connection
Wednesday is when we post the connection between the two principles.
Example: Stoic peace and Nehemiah 8:10 align as we search to find joy from within, knowing that God is always with us.
Thursday: Takeaway/Action
On Thursday, we offer a practical reflection for applying the theme to your life.
Example: Seek joy today: Simply smile at a task or frustration and give thanks for the strength to complete it.
Friday: Newsletter
This weekly newsletter explores how combining faith and Stoic philosophy leads to deeper understanding, peace, and purposeful living. Every week’s newsletter will be related to the weekly theme.
Week of: 09/07/25 (Self-Control)
Monday:
Stoic temperance teaches mastering desires. Seneca said, “You have power over your mind – not outside events.” Focus on what you control today.
Tuesday:
Genesis 4:7 – “Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Master your impulses with faith.
Wednesday:
Stoic temperance and Genesis 4:7 align as both call for us to rule our passions. Reason and faith together build self-control.
Thursday:
Practice self-control for the rest of the week. Pause before reacting. Understand that you have power over your mind and look to God for help when you need strength. How will you master your impulses?
